A Flow Control Algorithm for Piezoelectric Proportional Valves Based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control

Abstract

The piezoelectric proportional flow valve is an important control component in hydraulic and pneumatic transmission systems and is widely used in advanced medical equipment research and development, precision instrument manufacturing and other fields. This project mainly studied a piezoelectric flow proportional valve developed by FESTO company. The measurement of the static and dynamic working performance of the valve was achieved through LabVIEW programming, and the working characteristics of the valve were obtained. In addition, the model identification task of the proportional valve was completed by measuring the working performance and response curve of the piezoelectric valve. Finally, an active disturbance rejection control algorithm was designed for the control of piezoelectric proportional valves. The working frequency range of the valve can reach 15 Hz, and through MATLAB simulation, it was found that the accuracy of the method using the model identification toolbox is as high as 93%. In addition, the parameters of the self disturbance rejection control were adjusted, and the final control result obtained had no overshoot. The steady-state error of the result was less than 5%, and the response time remained around 250ms.
