Abstract

A fiber optic faint pressure sensor used in high-temperature environment is presented and experimentally demonstrated. The bulky and ruggedized pressure sensor is an extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer manufactured with stainless steel. A pressure sensitivity of 7.1 pm/Pa and a pressure resolution of 1.39 Pa within the measurement range from 0 to 1500 Pa have been achieved. The temperature dependence of the sensor is also investigated.
