A fast algorithm for intra downsizing in H. 264/AVC transcoding

Abstract

With widely using of multimedia applications, there are quite different demands in display resolutions and access bandwidths. There are also more demands in transcoding. At the same time, with being presented of the new video coding standard h.264, there are more high demands in transcoding. We present a fast algorithm based direction in I frame downsizing in h.264. This algorithm can significantly speed up the transcoding in I frame in h.264 with slight PSNR degradation.
