Abstract

This paper presents an algorithm for harmonic estimation and harmonic sources identification in the power distribution network. Output delays are taken into account when observing the system states. Single output delay and multiple output delay are both analyzed in the algorithm. The proposed technique is applied to a power distribution system, namely the IEEE 34-node test feeder. A fault observer approach in time-domain is provided to determine the harmonic current injections. This fault observer approach does not need computation at a particular harmonic frequency and can be carried out on-line or off-line.
