Abstract

A discontinuous Galerkin volume integral equation (DGVIE) method is proposed for scattering from inhomogeneous objects. It is shown that this DGVIE has several advantages over other volume integral methods. First, the DGVIE can be used for nonconformal meshes; second, the order of the singularity in DGVIE has been reduced from 1R3 to 1/R, and the implementation of DGVIE becomes simple; third, the proposed DGVIE converges faster than the traditional VIE methods especially for objects with high permittivity. Numerical results validate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed DGVIE.
