Abstract

A novel compact wideband high-rejection low-pass filter (LPF) using open-loop-arms defected ground structure (DGS) is presented. The performance of the proposed open-loop-arms DGS is analyzed, which shows deeper rejection and larger Q-factor. An equivalent circuit model has been given. Some dimensions of the DGS are studied. In order to show the validity of the proposed DGS, an optimized LPF is designed, the measured result of which shows a good agreement with the simulated result.
