Abstract

A software synchronization method based on chirp-z transform is proposed for optical performance monitoring in this letter. In comparison with the previously reported software synchronization methods, the proposed method is shown to have higher spectral resolution and shorter calculation time. The accuracy of the sampling step size for eye diagram recovery is efficiently improved. The experimental results of the eye-diagram and Q factor demonstrate the validity of the newly developed method.
