Abstract

A broadband dual-polarization base station antenna element for DCS/PCS/3G and 4G (certain standards) bands is presented in this paper. Simulations and measurements have shown that it has an impedance bandwidth of VSWR<1.4 over 1.71GHz-2.69GHz, within which the ports isolation (PI) is better than 32dB and the cross polarization isolation (CPI)(within ±60° of the mainlobe) is low than 30dB. It has a simple and compact structure and is easy to be manufactured in large scale. For the advantages mentioned above, it could be used to form an antenna array used in wireless communication base station. As an important aspect, some key parameters those have great influences on antenna performance, including the pattern of the reflector, are discussed in this paper.
