Abstract

Based on the reflecting phase properties of the artificial magnetic conductor (AMC), a broadband low radar cross-section (RCS) reflection screen is designed by combining two types of AMC cells in a novel pattern in this paper. By partially modifying AMC units on the diagonal of the traditional chessboard patterned AMC blocks, the AMC-based reflective screen is designed. Simulation results show that the proposed reflecting screen has a broadband property (relative bandwidth of 48.1%) in which -10dB RCS reduction is obtained comparing to a metallic plate with the same size.
