A bank note number automatic identification method

Abstract

As the bank note number is unique, it can be identified to determine the identity of the notes. It can provide important clues to blow the cash robbery, fraud and selling counterfeit money. This paper presents a method of bank note number automatic identification. This method determines the number regional of bank note and split the numbers using projection method. Identification number feature encoder has been established. The bank note number automatic identification has been implemented using a combined method which conjoint with template matching and character recognition. The final simulation results show that the presented method can effectively identify the number of bank notes number and has the high reliability and practicality.
