8×528Gb/s PS-64QAM Transmission over 3000km in a Terrestrial System with an Amplifier Span of 100km

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate an eight-channel WDM coherent system with 50GHz frequency spacing which can realize the transmission of 528-Gb/s/channel probabilistically-shaped 64QAM signal over 3000km fiber in a terrestrial system. Based on the GMI and NGMI results, about 100% transmission-distance improvement can be attained after probabilistic shaping.
