Abstract
A high-repetition-rate eye-safe optical parametric oscillator (OPO) is experimentally demonstrated. The OPO is pumped by a passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/Cr4+ : YAG laser and uses a non-critically phase-matched KTP as the OPO crystal. The conversion efficiency of the average power from input pump beam to 1.57μm output is 7% and the slope efficiency is up to 10.3%. At an incident pump power of 7.3W, the intracavity OPO system produces average powers at 1570 nm up to 0. 48 W with a pulse width of 6ns and repetition rate of 15 kHz.
