Abstract

A wideband hexagonal dual ring gap coupled (HDRGC) linearly polarized electronically reconfigurable transmit-array unit cell is presented in this paper. The passive patch has two rings, the inner ring is an electromagnetic gap coupled with the outer ring to enhance the bandwidth of the proposed unit cell. We use offset feed to get stable and broad bandwidth for both state I and state II. Minimum theoretical insertion losses are achieved of less than 0.6 dB for state I and state II. 3dB transmission bandwidth reaches up to 19.8% for the two-state name as (state I and state II).
