Abstract

With the development of 5G communication, the research on reconfigurable antenna has attracted extensive attention in related fields. Based on the efficient electromagnetic metasurface linear polarization converter, this paper proposes a high gain and wideband 1-bit reconfigurable transmission array element. This element structure includes a pair of orthogonal metal grids and an oblique symmetrical metal structure in the middle. The middle structures are listed as rectangular and circular patch structures with two rectangular gaps, respectively. By adjusting the switch of the pin loaded in the middle layer, the transmission phase difference of 180 ° can be achieved at 4.5GHz and 5.0GHz respectively. In addition, the height of the whole structure is only 0.16 λ0. It has low profile and is easy to make.
