Abstract
At present, the research on the scattering center modeling of metallic targets has been relatively mature, but the study on the scattering center modeling of complex targets with thin-coated structures is insufficient. This paper finds that the influence introduced by the thin coating is mainly reflected in the attenuation of the scattered field amplitude. Therefore, it is proposed to model the attenuation effect of the thin coating on electromagnetic waves, and add this attenuation term on the basis of the metal target scattering" center model to realize the modeling of the thin coating target's scattering center. This modeling method avoids the direct mathematical modeling and parameter estimation of the overall scattering of complex targets, and the scattering model is more physical and has a more concise form. The results of the full-wave method for warheads and aircraft targets verify that the thin-coated target scattering center model established in this paper has high accuracy in the simulation of radar cross section (RCS) fluctuations and imaging characteristics.
