Abstract
Based on the characteristics of static mode and scanning imaging of the dispersion imaging spectrometers, a complete solution to measure spectrometer's modulation transfer function is proposed. Static modulation transter function MTF is measured with spectrometer's own slit and scan imaging MTF is measured with the knife-edge method. The proposed solution is experimentally demonstrated. The MTF is measured by the knife-edge method in scan imaging mode. The virtual slit is used to replace the imaging spectrometer's slit to measure system's MTF in static imaging mode, which measurement results are basically consistent with knife-edge method. The virtual slit method is useful for the testing of imaging quality of imaging systems with other slits.
