Abstract
Enzymatic synthesis of polyesters has attracted increasing attention in recent years because of its mild reaction conditions, high selectivity, lack of any need for protection-deprotection, environmental friendliness and easy degradation of products. This paper reviews recent progress in the use of lipase catalyzed polycondensation to synthesize aliphatic polyesters, introduces lipase synthesis of saturated and unsaturated aliphatic polyesters, summarizes existing problems in enzymatic polymerization, and puts forward some improvement strategies.
