Abstract

The VOF multiphase flow model, realizable k-ε turbulence model, layered nested dynamic grid and other simulation technologies are adopted to study the underwater vertical launching characteristics of multiple slender bodies. The User-Defined Function (UDF) are used to simulate different depth environment. Considering the influence of boat speed, structure form of cylinder outlet, cylinder cover, pressure equalizing gas and other factors on the flow field state of underwater launching process, a 3D unsteady multiphase flow field simulation model of underwater launching is established. The flow field state near the cylinder outlet, the pressure load of adjacent position and seawater backflow are obtained in the model. The results show that, under the condition of a certain launching interval, the development of the bubble near the cylinder outlet during the first launching and the seawater backflow will have impact on the next launching; the development of the bubble at the cylinder outlet will also be greatly affected by lateral load. The methods and conclusions can provide guidance for the demonstration of underwater launching and the analysis of launching safety.
