Abstract
Corona discharge is a self-sustaining discharge which occurs in the uneven electric field, which can produce electromagnetic radiation field during the discharge process. The structure of discharge electrode is one of the key factors affecting the discharge of electromagnetic radiation field. In this paper, the effects of electrode characteristics on Trichel pulse current and its electromagnetic radiation field of negative corona discharge are studied. The effects of electrode tip radius and electrode spacing on discharge current and its electromagnetic radiation characteristics are studied through the combination of theory and experiment. The discharge electromagnetic radiation characteristics of a single electrode were analyzed theoretically. The results show that, with the increase in electrode tip radius, the amplitudes of Trichel pulse current increases and electromagnetic radiation field increase, and the frequency is unchanged. With the increase in electrode spacing, the current and electromagnetic radiation field characteristics are not affected when the discharge is in a stable state. The experimental results of Trichel pulse electromagnetic radiation field characteristics of a laboratory needle-plate discharge structure are consistent with the discharge characteristics of discharger.
