Abstract
A humidification-dehumidification desalination device is designed based on the method of self-circulated water spraying and solar air heating. Firstly, the construction and operation principle of the device are introduced. Then, the energy balance of each part of the device is analyzed. Finally, the heat collection and water production performance of the device are experimentally studied. The results show that the efficiency of the solar air collector matched with the desalination device is in 37%-50%. The maximum productivity reaches to 4.4 kg/h under the conditions of volume air flow rate of 164.21 m3/h, seawater spraying rate of 971 kg/h and fresh water spraying rate of 896 kg/h. In addition, the variation of the spraying rate has little effect on the water yield due to the self-circulated water spraying.
