Abstract

In order to study the influence of canister launcher layouts on the load of adjacent equipment for underwater ejection, the load characteristics of the three layouts of the canister launcher placed below the hull, below the bow and flush with the hull were analyzed by using the numerical calculation method. The multiphase flow model, computational fluid dynamics(CFD)and dynamic mesh method were employed to simulate the process of gas⁃liquid multiphase flow and motion. The results show that the main reason of different load on adjacent equipments are state of gas bubbles near the wall and outlet in different layouts of canisters launcher. Comparing three layouts of canister launcher, the amplitude of load differs by 12%.When the canister launcher is placed below the bow,the load amplitude is maximum, and the load amplitude is minimum when the canister launcher is placed flush with the hull. The contraction and expansion of gas bubbles near the outlet causes the alternating force on the adjacent equipment.Comparing the two layouts of the canister launcher, the force and moment of the canister launcher placed flush with the hull are relatively small.Re⁃ ducing the distance from the canister launcher outlet to hull surface is beneficial to reducing load on the adjacent equipment under reasonable size range condition.
