Abstract

The damage of aircraft by blast-fragmentation warhead is investigated through test, where the loading is generated by detonating the warhead. Two kinds of preformed fragments are utilized to compare and assess the damage of aircraft in test. Special focus is on the failure of critical components. It is shown that steel fragment has the better damage capability to destroy the high-strength components compared to reactive fragment, which performs the advantage of doing damage on cover structure. The results have the practical meaning for optimizing the structure of antiaircraft missile warhead and providing reference for aircraft vulnerability analysis.
