Xuan Zhang is an associate professor/PhD supervisor at the Beijing Institute of Technology. He received his bachelor's and doctoral degrees from the Beijing Institute of Technology and Tsinghua University, and a post-doctoral degree from Tsinghua University and Nanyang Technological University. He is mainly engaged in the mechanism and application research of heat and mass transfer and flow coupling process, especially the phase transition problems such as freezing/frost/solidification, boiling/evaporation/condensation. He has published more than 40 SCI/EI journal papers (including more than 20 first/corresponding authors, more than 1100 Google academic citations, H-factor of 22), published/participated in writing 3 monographs, been invited to report 3 times, and served as editor/reviewer for more than 30 academic journals; He has won the national first-class undergraduate program, Wu Zhonghua Outstanding Graduate Student of the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics (10 people/year), excellent doctoral dissertation of Tsinghua University, National Scholarship, Beijing Outstanding Graduate, Beijing Institute of Technology Xu Teli Scholarship (the highest student honor at the university level) and other honors, as well as more than 10 provincial and ministerial level and above university students science and innovation awards.

Research on the mechanism and application of coupled heat and mass transfer and flow processes, including:
● Freezing/frosting/solidification, boiling/evaporation/condensation, phase change heat and flow
● Droplet Dynamics, Surface/Interface Science
● Micro/Nano scale heat/mass transfer/flow
● Phase Change Energy Storage and Materials (PCM)
