He is mainly engaged in the synthesis and preparation of new energy materials and interface control, the performance optimization of new ion batteries, and the application of hydrogen energy and energy storage technology in new energy systems. He presided over the special funding of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the academic start-up program of young teachers of Beijing Institute of Technology, and participated in a number of horizontal projects of National Natural Science Foundation and enterprises and institutions. He is the Review Editor of Frontiers in Chemistry.
