Qiu Qing'an is an Associate Professor and Master's and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Management, Beijing Institute of Technology. He is a joint PhD candidate from the University of Pittsburgh. His main research areas include system reliability and operations management, as well as stochastic modeling and optimization theory. He has been included in the Stanford "Global Top 2% of Scientists" list and has published over 80 academic papers in flagship journals and mainstream journals in the field of reliability, such as EJOR, NRL, Risk Analysis, IEEE Transactions, and RESS. Among these, more than 40 papers are published in FMS-A/B class and ABS three-star/four-star journals. His papers have been cited over 2,300 times, with an H-index of 30. Eight of his papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers, and two papers have been selected as ESI Hot Papers.

He has led or participated in over ten research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Projects, General Projects, Key Projects), Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and various scientific research projects. He has been granted multiple national patents. He serves as a member of the Reliability Committee of the Chinese Society of System Engineering, a director of the Industrial Engineering Branch of the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics, and a youth member of the Reliability Branch of the Chinese Operations Research Society. Additionally, he is an editorial board member of the journal Recent Patents on Engineering, a youth editorial board member of Complex Engineering Systems, and a youth editorial board member of the flagship domestic industrial engineering journal Industrial Engineering. He also serves as a guest editor for several SCI journals.
