Zhang Meihui, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Computer Science, Beijing Institute of Technology, was selected as a national young talent. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a PhD in Computer Science in 2013. From 2014 to 2017, he worked at the Singapore University of Technology and Design as an assistant Professor. His research interests include big data management and analysis, massive data integration, new database systems, blockchain and artificial intelligence. He has published nearly 50 class A papers recommended by the Computer Society (CCF), including the top conferences in the field of database and data mining ACM SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, KDD, and top journals VLDB Journal, TKDE, etc. In recent years, he has presided over and participated in a number of national key scientific research projects, and served as a member of the program committee of top international academic conferences such as ACM SIGMOD, VLDB, ACM MM for many times, as well as a reviewer of top international journals such as TKDE, VLDBJ, TODS, etc. He is a member of the VLDB Board of Directors (up to now, there are only three elected in China), deputy editor of ACM/IMS Transactions on Data Science (TDS), and Springer Distributed and Parallel Domain Editor of Databases, Domain Chair of international top conferences IEEE ICDE 2018, ICDE 2022, VLDB 2018, VLDB 2019, VLDB 2020, VLDB 2023, ACM SIGMOD 2021, SIGMOD 2023 Associate Editor, DASFAA 2017 and EDBT 2022 Demo Track and Co-chair of BOSS 2018 Workshop, etc. Won the 2019 CCF-IEEE CS Young Scientist Award, 2020 VLDB Young Research Contribution Award (up to now only two in Asia), won the VLDB 2019 Best Paper Award, ICDE 2018 Best Paper Nomination Award and ACM SIGMOD 2019 Outstanding Research Award.
