Wu Guangrong, Ph.D. (majoring in Civil and Commercial Law at Tsinghua University), is currently a professor at Beijing Institute of Technology. From August 2003 to January 2009, he worked at the National Judges College of the Supreme People's Court. During this period, he was engaged in the research of "Legal Methodology and modernization of Civil Law" in Germany. From June 2009 to June 2015, he served as a judge of the Fourth Civil Division of the Supreme People's Court, engaged in foreign-related commercial trials, undertook or participated in the trial of a number of major difficult cases, and participated in the formulation of judicial interpretations on foreign-invested enterprises, maritime freight forwarding, independent letters of guarantee and the argumentations on sales contracts, property law, company law and other judicial interpretations; He was awarded professor in December 2015 and has participated in the formulation of the General Principles of Civil Law and the compilation of the Civil Code. From June 2020 to October 2023, he worked in the Second Civil Division of the Supreme People's Court to clean up and formulate relevant judicial interpretations, and was the main draftsman and author of several important judicial interpretations such as the Judicial Interpretation of the Guarantee System of the Civil Code and the Judicial Interpretation of the Contract Compilation of the Civil Code. He participated in the argumentation of judicial policy documents such as the Minutes of the National Court Financial Trial Work Conference (Draft), and was also a main member of the Supreme People's Court's drafting working group on the amendment of the Enterprise Bankruptcy Law and the study group on the trial practice of the amendment of the Company Law.
