Research Interests

  • Energy Storage and Green Battery Materials
Design and synthesize novel metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and carbon-based composites; investigate their applications in hydrogen and natural gas storage; explore applications as active electrode materials and membranes in lithium-ion battery, sodium-ion battery, metal-air battery and fuel cells.
  • Gas Adsorption and Separation
Design and prepare functional MOFs for gas adsorption, separation and capture of harmful gases.
  • Green Catalysis
Embark on the heterogeneous catalytic properties of novel MOFs and explore their recyclability.

Professional Experience

In 2011, professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology In October 2015, he was appointed as the Vice Dean of the School of Chemistry at Beijing Institute of Technology; In June 2016, he was appointed as the Executive Vice Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; In November 2017, he was appointed as the Executive Vice President of the Frontier Cross disciplinary Science Research Institute of Beijing Institute of Technology. In September 2019, he was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology.

Research Achievement

He has published more than 80 papers in academic journals such as Nature, Science, JACS, and Angew. His papers have been cited more than 11,500 times by SCI, and the highest single paper has been cited 2,600 times. Since returning to China full-time and working independently at the end of 2011, He has been the corresponding author in Science (1 article), Nat.Mater.(1 article), Nat.Commun.(3 articles), JACS (10 articles), Angew.chem.in.ed.(10 articles), Accounts Chem.Res.(1 article) More than 90 papers have been published in international academic journals such as), Chem. Soc. Rev. (3 papers), Energy Environ.Sci.(3 papers), Adv. Mater. (4 papers), Chem. Sci.(2 papers), etc. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology and a member of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education. International IZA Society MOF Executive Director of the Commission, expert of the Hydrogen Energy Special Group of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Executive director of the Environment and Sustainable Development Society of the Ministry of Communications of China, Director of the International Academy of Electrochemical Energy Sciences (IAOEES), vice chairman of the Zhongguancun Hydrogen Energy Technology Alliance, director of the Environment and Sustainable Development Society of the Ministry of Communications of China, part-time director of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center; Editorial board member of Chinese Chemical Letters, Chinese Chemical Journal and Scientific Reports, and deputy editor of Safety and Environment Journal.
