Abstract

The hot cracking occur easily in ZL205A alloy during solidification process. However, the lack of constitutive model in the high temperature makes it considerably difficult to predict hot cracking. The linear elastic, elasto-plastic and elasto-visco-plastic constitutive models which are suitable for the mushy alloy of ZL205A was evaluated by the simulation of ProCAST software, which was compared with the actual pouring test of hot crack on this basis. The results indicate that the elasto-visco-plastic constitutive model is more suitable for the mushy alloy of ZL205A, and the stress is mainly concentrated at the intersection of the flange and the thin-wall of large-sized thin-wall cylindrical component with the constitutive model. The deformation of cylindrical component is effectively improved when the height of tiepiece is increased from 19 mm to 48 mm.
