Abstract

User task is a kind of important applications in WFMSs. How to handling user tasks has a great impact on the performance of a WFMS. The handling of user tasks mainly involves in defining the organization structures, dispatching work items among participants. This paper presents the method of the dynamic definition of organization structure, the algorithm of the load-balance dispatching of work items among participants. On the basis of these techniques, the definition and scheduling of user tasks are discussed. The handling mechanism and corresponding scheduling techniques of user tasks are implemented in a workflow management system ScopeWork, which is a prototype system of WFMS to support CIMS complicated applications.
