Abstract

Based on the theory of inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT), the time domain excitation model of left and right tracks is discussed and studied in this research. Considering the coherence of left and right tracks of the vehicle, a method to numerically fitting the right wheel could be given and the excitation of left and right wheels was proposed. The random excitation in time domain model of the left and right tracks was simulated under Matlab environment. Results show that the power spectral density and root mean square obtained from presented method are in good accordance to the classification of road roughness suggested by ISO, and also the coherence of the left and right tracks of the vehicle is in conformity with the recommended model.
