Abstract

Based on the flicker photometry, the new system measuring the visual function is designed and set up. The visual function curve is acquired finally. The interference of different colors caused by white light and monochromatic light is avoided according to the response characteristic of eye to discontinuous light. By the method of comparing visual brightness, the photometric equilibrium of the system is reached, and radiation quantities are measured to obtain the visual function curve. The difference between the experimental measurements and the CIE recommended values of V(λ) are analyzed and improving solution is proposed. The difference is better understood between light response of photoelectric detector and human eye. A foundation is laid for the application of new photoelectric detector in the future. The results show that the system is capable of measuring the human visual function, and the degree of overlap between the CIE recommended standard visual function curve and the visual function curve measured in the system is promising.
