Abstract

An experiment system including shock wave overpressure measurement system was established to investigate the explosion mechanism of molten aluminum in water. The test accuracy and reliability of the shock wave overpressure measurement system were validated. The shock wave overpressures generated by the explosion effect of molten aluminum in water at difference distances was measured. It is found that the shockwave overpressure increases with the increase in distance in the region near the container. Shock wave energy conversion rate was introduced for evaluating the shockwave behavior.
