Abstract

To verify whether the strength of holding bolt used in a wind turbine blade satisfies the requirement in strength design, a uniaxial tension test was conducted using DLY-100T hydraulic universal material testing machine. The data on tensile ultimate strength, unit extension and section shrinking rate of the holding bolt were obtained in the test. In addition, the strength of the holding bolt under the conditions of blade weight and centrifugal load when wind powered generator in operation was also investigated. The test and calculation results indicate that the design of the holding bolt can meet the strength requirements. The results provide a useful reference for designing and assembling wind powered generators.
