T-S Fuzzy Fault Analysis for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Power Source System

Abstract

Fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) have the promise of solving the pollution and fossil energy consumption problem in the automotive industry. The fault diagnosis of the FCEV power source system is necessary to carry out to avoid the attenuation of its performance and service life. The T-S fuzzy fault tree analysis (TS-FTA) is suitable to handle the uncertainty of the system failure probability without knowing the basic event failure probability accurately. In this paper, the performance and causes of the main faults occurring in the FCEV power source system are introduced. The fault tree analysis models of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell system and battery system are constructed. According to the TS-FTA scheme, the event relationship is described by setting fuzzy gates in T-S fuzzy model, and based on the two sub-models, the TS-FTA model of FCEV power source system is established. The probability of the FCEV power source system failure being 0.5 or 1 is calculated. Compared with the traditional FTA, the proposed TS-FTA is more beneficial to solve the uncertainty problem of component failure probability and system failure mechanism.
