Abstract

Mesoporous molecular sieve Si-Al/MCM-41 was synthesized by hydrothermal method with a gel molar composition of SiO2:0.1Al2O3:0.5Na2O:CTABr: mesitylene:156H2O. After calculation, Pt cluster was supported on the MCM-41, following a procedure of ion exchange of Pt(NH3)42+. The MCM-41 materials were comprehensively characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption at 77 K. The chemical shift in 129Xe NMR spectroscopy of adsorbed xenon indicates that the Pt cluster is located inside the MCM-41.
