Abstract

A novel prepolymer functional additives (NPFA) containing carbamic acid ester, polyurea and long-chain n-alkanes was synthesized and its potential application to hydroxyl-terminated polyether (HTPE) binder was investigated. The density of prepared NPFA was 1.159 0 g/cm3 while the viscosity of NPFA in 60℃ was 15.103 Pa·s. The onset decomposition temperature of NPFA was 165.7℃ and the Td, max of NPFA was measured to be 317.5℃. The Tg of NPFA was -35℃. With the addition of this functional additive, the mechanical properties has improved a lot due to its crystallization and keep the glass-transition temperature of HTPE nearly unchanged and keep a good processing performance.
