Abstract

Two novel energetic coordination compounds using 1, 5-diaminotetrazole as ligand, Co or Cu as the central cation and picric acid as outer ion were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy. The effects of the two complexes on thermal decomposition of AP, HMX and HNIW were investigated by DSC and TG-DTG technologies. The CCD burning-rate determinate system was used to study the catalysis of the two complexes on the combustion of the GAP/HNIW propellant. The results show the two novel energetic complexes exhibit a good catalytic performance on the thermal decomposition of AP, HMX and HNIW. In addition, the copper complex of [Cu(DAT)2](PA)2 can be used as the combustion catalyst to improve the combustion behavior, and to decrease pressure exponent of the GAP/HNIW propellant.
