Study on thermal sustaining damage ability of thermobaric explosive

Abstract

Using the infrared imager, blasting fireball's temperature of thermobaric explosive with different masses and TNT were measured. According to the experimental data, the relation of fireball's diameter and duration to explosive mass were simulated. Thermal damage rule was confirmed according to blast characteristics of thermaobaric explosive, and the parameters of the blasted fireball were also gained. Thermal damage radius at different degree of thermobaric explosive and TNT were calculated. The results indicate that thermobaric explosive possesses good thermal damage effect, and the damage effects of high-temperature field are especially obvious.
