Abstract

The study calculated and analyzed the distribution of thermal stress on exhaust manifold of one 8V diesel exhaust system. To solve the problem of high local thermal stress on the exhaust manifold, the effect of using hollow flange structure, reducing cylinder head stiffness and slotting has been studied.
