Abstract
Acrylamide (AM)/N-Vinylpyrrolidone (NVP) copolymer (AM/NVP) has been synthesized in aqueous solution by radical copolymerization. The apparent viscosity of the aqueous solution of copolymer samples were measured using a rotational rheometer. The effects of various factors on apparent viscosity, such as concentration of polymer, composition of copolymer, concentration of electrolyte, temperature, shear rate and concentration of surfactant, were investigated in detail. The studying results show that there is hydrophobic interaction in solution of Acrylamide (AM)/N-Vinylpyrrolidone (NVP) copolymer (AM/NVP). The solution of AM/NVP copolymer has the withstanding temperature property and salt resistance.
