Abstract

The bit error rate (BER) of asynchronous direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems is studied using Hermite Gaussian approximation (HGA). Existing HGA based BER formula involves a numerical integral in its computation, and only applies to time-limited waveforms and AWGN channel. By contrast, we propose a closed-form BER expression that enables convenient performance analysis for DS-CDMA using band-limited waveforms in Nakagami-m fading channels.
