Abstract

There are main two types of evaluation systems for ride comfort of wheeled vehicles. One evaluation systen, including ISO 2631 and other similar standards, is generally used to evaluate tit comnen vehicles, the another based on two limits, i.e. 6 W average absorbed power and 2.5 g vertic 1 acceleration peak, is used to evaluate military vehicles by U.S. army and NATO. The practice of U.S. army in the past testified that the evaluation method based on limits is proper and built on tests. As the ride comfort evaluation of off-road vehicle is similar to that of military vehicle, it is feasible to evaluate the off-road vehicles by using the evaluation method based on limits.
