Abstract
The significance of lunar rover localization is introduced first, and the corresponding limitations of all localization algorithms are indicated by analyzing the lunar environment. Most of the localization algorithms of domestic and international planetary rovers are studied and classified, and the feasibility, reliability, and autonomous capabilities of the key algorithms are assessed. Finally, the difficulties and problems existing in the present development of lunar rover localization algorithms are presented.
