Abstract

The dual-port RAM based on FPGA plays an important role in the design of complex system. This paper firstly introduces the basic characteristics of reset, enable, read and write dual-port RAM, and their effects for the system's reliability, real-time and power consumption. And then focus on the dual-port RAM to achieve a large-capacity shift caches and the dual-port RAM array of communications chain in the application of complex communication system, which includes the implement of real-time communication among DSP, FPGA and other peripheral interfaces with applying the link, the interconnection communication between multi-CPU, and the related design of three-port RAM. The complex communication data and buses monitor and other applications show the configurable dual-port RAM can enrich the design of complex systems, improve the efficiency of system communication, and reduce the difficulty of system design.
