Research on calculation of capacity of flexibly connected power battery pack

Abstract

With the technology that power battery pack could be connected flexibly, capacity of power battery pack for electric vehicle (EV) is redefined. The important role of background is pointed out which the definition of capacity of cell was based on. Compared with that of cell, performance of voltage of power battery pack is analyzed. The voltage can fluctuate and can be resetted by flexible connection. Considering requirement of power from EV, a definition of capacity of power battery pack which breaks through "short-board" rule is given. How to calculate capacity of power battery pack is discussed accordingly. The definition could more exactly indicate the real energy of power battery pack than others. So it help to make EV more economical.
