Abstract

New regenerative braking control strategy should be established to recycle braking energy as much as possible as a prerequisite of brake performance. Together with the analysis of the vehicle brake dynamics and related braking regulations, and output characteristic of motor, the model of moter was established. A new regenerative braking control strategy of distribution between regenerative braking force and frictional braking force in electric vehicles was proposed, and simulation carried out with Matlab/Advisor. Compared with the usual scale braking control strategy, the proposed strategy enables to take advantage of motor brake torque, and a remarkable motor regenerative energy improvement can be achieved. The results also indicated that the control strategy could handle with the braking demand well.
