Abstract

Ultrafine diamonds (UFD) were produced under high pressure and high temperature generated by explosive detonation. UFD were purified by various means including HClO4, H2SO4 + K2O7 and H2SO4 + KMnO4. XRD, TG and DTA were used to analyze UFD. The results show that compared with other methods, H2SO4 + KMnO4 is a more efficient, cheaper and safer purification method with less pollution and less investment.
