Abstract

Aerogels were prepared via sol-gel polymerization of a new reaction system (5-methylresorcinol- furfural) which was catalyzed by NaOH(C). The relation of progress and aerogel structure was investigated by SEM and Surface Area and Pore Size Analyzer. The results show that mass content of reactants influences the particle siza more greatly. Pore size distribution changes greatly with mass content of reactants and MR/C(molar ratio). The average pore diameter is about 5~20 nm, and the surface aera is about 400~550 g/m2, which is more larger than that of resorcinol-furfural aerogel.
