Abstract
The recent progress in establishing NIM's first optical frequency comb was reported. A supercontinuum, which spans from 510 nm to -1050 nm, was generated using a segment of 40 cm, 2.0 μm core size PCF fiber. The carrier offset frequency signal fCEO with a signal to noise ratio of better than 35 dB was detected using the standard f-to-2f heterodyne technique. Preliminary phase locking results of the offset frequency was ±0.363 mHz, and the results of the repetition frequency fr was ±0.245mHz (1σ standard deviation with 1s gate time), which was proved to be limited by the frequency counter (Agilent E53132A) used.
